Les Marshall 1987-89
Redeployed from Evan's Bay (Wellington) to 2-I-C position at Lichfield St. Testing Station. Russell Mills was Station Manager. CoF staff included Bob Williamson, Brian Davis, Stan Worling, Laurie Sinclair, Philip Wells & later, Ron Lucas also. This was a time when staff were being culled from all parts of the Ministry. Years later, learned that total MoT staff numbers were reduced from some 2000 to around 27 - these being a policy unit in Wellington. The Vehicle Inspection component (566.1 occupational class) of that 2000 only ever reached 255 - this included all grades - 101 to 106 (ie: Rookie to Supt)
