I took up the post as Sole Charge Road Traffic Instructor in 1985, it took a bit of getting used to the place names, having been brought up on the West Coast I knew places pronounced in the West Coast lingo, not as the correct spelling in the road maps, Albie Rose was the Senior Sergent at the time thought it was a great joke. I spent a lot of time travelling between Haast and Karamea, I met my now husband, then the Principal of Franz Josef school and we are now married with 3 boys. The MOt went through some major restructuring in 1989, I left the uniform behind and worked as a Driver Training Consultant, teaching Hazardous Substance courses, assessing company drivers and driver training, we moved to Whangarei in 1990.
